In this Geoshortqa we know about Types of Shock Waves.
Types of Shock Waves
(a) Undisturbed materials
At the vary beginning there was no wave action found and all the materials are undisturbed

There are mainly two types of shock waves are found
1) Body Waves
These travel through the crust and are of two types
(b) Primary (P) Waves
which cause the crustal rock to move back and forth in the direction of wave movement.

(c) Secondary (S) Waves
which cause the crustal rock to move from side to side i.e. at right angles to the direction of wave movement.

2) Surface Waves
These travel through the surface rocks and are of two types
(d) Love (L) Waves

(e) Rayleigh (R) Waves
which cause the surface rocks to have a vertical circular movement very similar to that of water in a sea wave.
